Tunisia: 13 Recommendations for making the Right to Adequat Housing a reality
As part of the World Zero Evictions Days, preparatory meetings were held in the regions, then, from 24th to 27th October 2013 the First Conference for the Right to Adequat Housing in Tunisia. Despite the difficulties involved, it was considered a success, since the participants were united in tackling head-on an extremely important subject that has nonetheless been neglected for decades by the present government and all those prior to the events of 14th January 2011, and the two previous decades.

During the World "Zero Evictions – for the Right to Adequate Housing for All” Days organised around the world during the month of October, under the auspices of the International Alliance of Inhabitants, the first Conference for the Right to Adequate Housing was held from 24 to 27 October 2013 at the École Nationale d'Architecture et d’Urbanisme in Sidi Bou Said, underscoring the achievements of the World Assembly of Inhabitants (FSM Tunisia 2013). Several representatives of civil society organisations and specialists from both Maghreb and around the world participated.

The International Alliance of Inhabitants is a global network of associations and social movements of inhabitants, cooperatives, communities, tenants, house owners, homeless, slum dwellers, indigenous populations and people from working class neighbourhoods. The objective is the construction of another possible world starting from the achievement of the housing and city rights.
